Dara Yarosh was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and showed a very early disposition toward the arts. Her childhood saw her travel to Asia and Australia, where she lived for several years. After moving to Florida, she obtained a Graphic Design degree from the University of Florida and gained employment in the space industry, where she was many times noticed and rewarded for her graphic talent.

In search of a creative environment, Dara quit her job and moved to Paris in 1990, where she dedicated herself to being a professional photographer, working both on her own creations and taking jobs as a portraitist and a fashion photographer. Her work received several awards and was selected for publication locally and nationally. In the mid ’90s, she came back to Florida, where she still lives today and continues her career as a photographer.

Dara’s photographic work shows a rare sensitivity toward the true nature of her subjects. Whether it is a face, a reflection or shadows playing upon a sidewalk, her pictures take a life of their own and reveal subtle aspects of our reality. Her photographs are glimpses into the backstage of life, capturing a unique vision of moments gone by.
